Isaac studied his younger brother. "Nah, I like the other shirt better." he said.
"Zac?" Taylor asked, turning in his direction.
Zac looked up from the tv. He narrowed his eyes, "The other one. No way I'd let you wear that one, ha."
Taylor rolled his eyes. "Its always about my clothes, isn't it?" he asked
"Well maybe if you learned how to pick out some decent ones there wouldn't be such a problem." Isaac said, sitting down next to Zac on the couch.
Taylor pulled the shirt he was currently wearing over his head, revealing a white wife-beater. "Ohhh! There he is! That's my sexy Taylor!" Isaac joked, "Come over here and have youself a seat!" he patted the spot next to him, and raised his eyebrows at Taylor. "Oh come on, don't be afraid!"
"That's enough, Ike." Taylor said, pulling the blue shirt over his head. "This looks okay, right?" he asked, "I mean, you both said that this shirt was better than the other one."
"YES!" they both said in unison.
"Now grab your little picnic basket and be on your way, young man. The last thing you want is to be late in picking up the birthday girl." Zac said. "Oh, by the way, I remembered to pack some condoms for you guys, you know, just in case."
"That's not on the agenda for today, dipshit."
Taylor walked into the kitchen to grab the picnic basket. "I'm outta here." he said. As soon as he opened the front door, he came face to face with Kylie.
"Oh, hi." she looked down at the picnic basket. "You're still going?" she asked
"Yeah. What, you expected me to break this lunch date just because you don't want me to go?"
Kylie looked down. "Well, no. Its just that I thought, um... "
"Yeah, uh-huh, well anyways, I've gotta go otherwise I'll be late." he stepped passed her.
"Don't forget her 'perfect present and perfect card.'" she reminded him
"Its already in the car. I'll see ya."
Kylie sighed as she watched him get in the car. He started the engine and looked at her, offering a small wave. "See ya."

"So really, the only problem would be if she like, jumped the poor guy in the middle of the park, right?"
"Well, yeah, but I highly doubt she'd do that in the park. Maybe in the backseat of his car, but not in the park."
"Oh that's reassuring, thanks." Kylie flopped back down on Zac's bed. "But seriously though, you thought that Taylor and I had already done it?"
"Yeah, Ike too. You guys are always all over eachother its kinda like, who wouldn't think that?"
"You mean your parents think that too?!" Kylie stared at him, eyes wide, praying his answer would be no.
Zac laughed. "No, they don't think that, Ky."
"Oh... so what do they think?"
"I don't know. As long as they like you and still allow you in our house I wouldn't worry."
"True."
"So... how far have you and Taylor gone... just out of curiosity."
Kylie got up from his bed. "Sorry Zacky, that's where our conversation ends. Thanks for helping me pass the time." She walked out of the room and just as she entered the hall, she heard the front door close. She walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, finding Taylor standing in front of the fridge.
"I drank your last Mountain Dew, if that's what you're looking for." she said, making her appearence known.
"What about the orange juice?" he asked
"Jessie finished it off earlier with a little help from Mac and Zoe."
He shut the door and sat down at the table. Kylie walked over and sat next to him. "Its kinda late you know." she said, glancing over at the clock, which read 9:35.
"Yeah."
"So what'd you two do the whole afternoon?"
"We spent a couple hours in the park just talking, then we went back to her house for a while. Nothing big."
"Did you fuck her?"
Taylor whipped his head around to look at her. "Excuse me?"
"Or did she fuck you? Oh but then again, its not like its that much of a difference, I mean, either way its the same thing, because - "
"I cannot belive you just asked me that."
"Just wondering."
"No, we didn't have sex. We're friends."
"Well what does that make us then?" she asked him
"Huh?"
"Well, if we're supposedly "just friends" then why do we mess around?"
"Because, you know... hormones and stuff."
"And stuff?" she gave him a questioning look. "No, Taylor, if we're gonna continue to be "just friends" then we can't fool around anymore. Come to think of it, I don't even know why we ever started doing it in the first place, but its obviously too late for that now. My point here, is that either we figure out what we are, and I can guarantee you its not "just friends" because people who are "just friends" don't do the kinds of things we do." she took a deep breath, continuing, "Or... " she looked at him and saw he was staring intently at her, awaiting what she had to say. "Or... "
"Or... " he tried to help her along so she could finish what she was saying.
Kylie turned her head in the other direction, trying desperately to find the rest of her thoughts. How had she managed to loose them in the first place? Ah yes, Taylor. If she had never stopped to look at Taylor then she wouldn't have lost her train of thought. Dammit, I was gonna say something about...
"Listen, Ky," Taylor interrupted her thinking, "I'm sorry." Kylie gave him a look telling him she didn't understand what he was apologizing for. "I'm sorry for ever starting the whole, messing around thing. I knew it was wrong at the time, but come on, lets face it, we were both two horny teenagers who, at times, needed to be with someone."
"Yeah but that's still no excuse for it. What we did, and still do is wrong. Its crossing the line of friendship completly."
Taylor reached out and grabbed her hand. "I know that. But I've got to be honest with you here, Ky. There were times when I actually wanted to go all the way with you. And its not like I wanted to just so that I could go up to Josh or Eric and say, 'Hey man, guess who got laid last night?' you know? Its like, I wanted to because, because I don't know. I mean, there were just these feelings that I couldn't explain. It confused the hell out of me and I guess maybe that's why I made us stop. Its like those feelings I had for you weren't normal and I just didn't know what to do or how to handle them."
Kylie stared at him for a moment, letting all the information sink on. "I um... "
"But its all over now. That's all in the past with us. We need to move on with our lives and find someone."
"Someone else?" she asked
"Yeah, someone else. I mean, don't you think its about time I got a girlfriend? And you could maybe use a boyfriend."
Kylie scooted back from the table and stood up. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Who says I need a boyfriend? Did you ever think that maybe I don't want one right now?"
"Well, if you don't that's fine. I'm not gonna push you to get one all I'm saying is - "
"All you're saying is that I could use one! Well you know what Taylor? FUCK YOU."
Taylor stood up and grabbed her shoulders, stopping her from pacing the kitchen floor. "Just stop a minute."
"What?" she asked harshly
"You're right, maybe you don't need a boyfriend. I'm sorry."
"Oh so now you're sorry again? You can't keep apologizing for every little thing Taylor and just hope that I'll forgive you and we can go back to being friends and everything will be perfect again. You know why? Because that's not how life works. You think that we live in some kind of a Brady Bunch world, don't you? Newsflash! There's no such thing! Life can never be perfect, no matter how hard you try. I have no fucking clue why you think that, but you've gotta learn, and it looks to me like its gonna be the hard way, because - "
Lips. Taylor's soft, sweet tasting lips were now on her's. She resisted the urge to pull away and decided to enjoy it for the time being. His tongue passed through her lips, and that's when she felt the need to pull away, so, she did.
She didn't meet his eyes, only looked down at the greyish floor covering the kitchen floor. "Taylor... I - I have to go." She bolted for the front door, never once turning back to look at him or even to say good-bye.
